Learn the Art of Ikebana

In this Ikebana flower arranging class, you’ll learn the art of Sogetsu. Embracing the school’s motto, Sogetsu Ikebana can be created anytime, anywhere, by anyone.

You’ll work hands-on with seasonal flowers and natural materials while learning the fundamentals of Sogetsu Ikebana. Our knowledgeable teacher Ava gives a live demonstration of the lesson, and provides guidance and assistance throughout the class.

    With over 18 years of experience in floral design, Ava brings creativity and expertise to every arrangement.

    Ava Socho Kennedy has been studying Sogetsu Ikebana for 18 years, currently holding a Somu Teacher’s ranking. Ava loves to share the creativity, artistry and beauty of ikebana. While Ava specializes in ikebana she is classically trained and knowledgeable in Western floral design. She is currently on the flower committee at The Asian Art Museum, and participated in Bouquets to Art since 2022.
